SDS Semi-Automatic Piston Fillers

SDS SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTON FILLERS

A positive-displacement piston filling system built for accurate volumetric filling of liquids and semi-viscous products. The SDS line is sized for small-to-medium production environments where flexibility and simple operation matter more than high-speed automation, making it a practical entry point for growing brands that need repeatable fill volumes without a large equipment investment. Best for: small-to-medium producers filling liquids or viscous products who need accurate, repeatable volumetric fills.

SDS piston fillers use a positive displacement piston to deliver consistent fill volumes regardless of product variation. The semi-automatic design allows the operator to control the fill cycle while maintaining repeatable results.

These systems are suitable for free-flowing to viscous products, including those with particulates, and are commonly used in food, cosmetic, pharmaceutical, and chemical applications. Sanitary construction and tool-less disassembly support quick cleaning and product changeover.

Fill-By-Weight Filling Systems

FILL-BY-WEIGHT (FBW) FILLING SYSTEMS

SPM’s FBW systems use load cell technology to measure and control fill accuracy by weight rather than volume, which matters for products where density varies batch to batch. Built to handle a wide range of container sizes and product types, FBW is the right call whenever weight — not volume — is the number your quality team actually needs to hit. Best for: operations where fill accuracy must be measured and verified by weight, including foamy, viscous, or density-variable products.

FBW systems use load cell technology to measure and control the fill weight of each container. Product is dispensed in a controlled two-stage process, allowing for efficient bulk filling followed by a precise final top-off.These systems can be configured for manual, semi-automatic, or fully automatic operation depending on production requirements. They are commonly used for filling containers ranging from small jugs to large totes and can accommodate a variety of product types, including liquids, viscous products, and products containing particulates.

System layouts can include single filling stations or multi-head configurations, with integration options for conveyors and downstream equipment to support complete packaging lines.

Automatic Overflow Filler (LF90CA-C/PD)

Automatic Overflow Filler (LF90CA-C/PD)

A proven, economical fill-to-level machine with hundreds already in service, the LF90CA automatically ensures every container fills to the same level regardless of small variations in bottle volume — eliminating the visible fill-line inconsistencies that fill-by-volume systems can produce. It’s designed to expand as production grows, so it doesn’t become a bottleneck the moment a brand scales. Best for: manufacturers who need consistent, level matched fills across bottles with slight volume variance, and want room to scale up later.

The LF90CA is a proven workhorse with hundreds in service today. Containers are automatically transferred on a conveyor in and out of the machine. Bottle positioning and cycling of the machine is controlled by a PLC receiving bottle counts from sensors. As long as bottles are in place and product is in the tank, this machine will continue to fill bottles automatically.

Nozzles are easily spaced out when dealing with different diameter bottles or can even be swapped if bottle openings have large variations. The machine has an option of either a centrifugal pump (ideal for non-viscose liquids) or  a positive displacement pump (high viscose liquids). These inline fillers can be customized to suit any size container or conveyor length. Container sizes from 100 ml to 10 L can be accommodated.

  • LF90CA-C comes complete with a sanitary centrifugal pump.
  • LF90CA-PD comes complete with a sanitary positive displacement pump.
  • The pump draws from the built-in tank sending liquid to the manifold and from there to the nozzles.
  • Easy and fast adjustment for accurate fills.
  • Can be adapted to different applications, allowing smooth production runs and easy changeovers for high efficiency.
  • Built in stainless steel holding tank with level control.
  • Overflow goes directly back into the holding tank.
  • 316 stainless steel nozzles with Teflon seals and Viton o-rings.
  • PVC nozzles and tanks are available for filling acids
  • The hoses connect to a rigid top body preventing hose strain from effecting nozzle performance
  • Easy to integrate into a production line or in stand-alone operation.
  • It is excellent machine in terms of value, flexibility and performance.
  • The machine is self contained needing only AC power, compressed air and to be connected to the main liquid supply.

Semi-Automatic Overflow Filler (LF90ST-C / PD)

Semi-Automatic Overflow Filler (LF90ST-C / PD)

The semi-automatic sibling to the LF90CA, this entry-level overflow filler delivers the same fill-to-level consistency in a lower-throughput, lower-cost configuration — and can be upgraded to a fully automatic machine later without starting over on equipment. Best for: startups and lower-volume producers who want overflow-fill consistency now with a clear upgrade path to full automation.

The LF90ST is a proven workhorse with hundreds in service today. Containers are shuttled along a slide table and indexed via a manual stop. The operator presses a start button and the filling cycle begins. Once the filling cycle has been completed the nozzle bar lifts and waits until the operator presses the button once again.

Metering Pump Liquid Filler (MP90NG-CA)

Metering Pump Liquid Filler (MP90NG-CA)

Built around metering pump technology, the MP90NG-CA is engineered specifically for foamy products and open-container filling, using profiled, sub-surface fill paths to control foam formation as the container fills. Like the PF20-CA, it handles both thin and viscous liquids, but its pump-based metering makes it the better choice when foam control is the deciding factor. Best for: foamy or aerated liquid products where standard piston filling would introduce excess foam.

The MP90NG-CA is an extremely versatile liquid filler that can easily handle both thin and viscose liquids. The design allows for bottom-up, subsurface fills along with a microprocessor controlled profiled filling rate, making this an ideal choice for filling foamy products. Accuracies of +/- 0.5 ml are typical for most products.

These inline fillers can be customized to suit any size container or conveyor length. Container sizes from 10 ml to 10 L can be accommodated.

  • Fully automatic filler can be configured to operate 1 nozzle or up to 12 nozzles. Most machines are built with the ability to add nozzles should demand increase.
